This page explains where Airport Code Guide data comes from, how we maintain it, and how corrections are handled.
1. Main Data Sources
- Public aviation datasets: airport identifiers, coordinates, and operational fields such as runway metadata.
- Official airport websites: used when verifying airport names, location details, and operational notes.
- Reference sources: trusted public references (for example, official authorities and established aviation references) used for cross-checks.
2. How Data Is Processed
- Records are imported into structured airport, city, country, and continent entities.
- Core identifiers such as IATA and ICAO codes are normalized for consistency.
- Duplicate checks and relationship checks are run during maintenance updates.
3. Editorial Review
- Pages are reviewed periodically and updated when new source data becomes available.
- High-traffic pages and user-reported issues are reviewed first.
- Each page includes a "Last reviewed" date based on its latest verified update.
4. Limitations
Airport operations can change quickly. Route availability, terminal usage, and operational status may differ from historical records. If a detail is mission-critical for travel or operations, verify it with official sources before acting on it.
5. Corrections and Feedback
If you find an error, please send the airport code, the incorrect detail, and (if possible) a source link via our Contact page. Verified corrections are prioritized in upcoming updates.
